Leading with Grace

There was a season in my life when I stepped away from leadership—not because I lacked strength, but because I needed restoration.

I encountered obstacles that could have hardened my heart. The enemy looked me dead in my face and lied. I was overlooked and discouraged by people I once expected support from. I stood tall on the outside… but behind closed doors, I had to pray my way through the pain.

My cousin and I have an inside motto: “I’m telling God on them.” In the meantime, we remind ourselves that the battle is not mine—it’s the Lord’s.

Anywho, I made a decision that changed everything:

I refused to let what I experienced shape me into someone who dims the light of others. Sadly, all of these women were much older. I promised myself I would never treat anyone the way they tried to treat me.

Instead, I chose growth.
I chose grace.
I chose to become the kind of leader I once needed.

And God honored that.

He didn’t just remove obstacles—He elevated my perspective, protected my peace, and positioned me to lead in ways I once only dreamed of. I invested in myself and took classes like Emotional Intelligence. I am learning to tame my emotions because I have a snapback that can cut to the marrow of the bone. I need to learn and practice emotional intelligence.

Today, I lead with intention:
✨ I try to speak life into others
✨ I try to create space for people to grow
✨ I uplift, empower, and encourage without hesitation

Because leadership isn’t about power—it’s about impact.
It’s about how people feel after they’ve encountered you.

So here’s my question for you:
What did you go through that made you say, “I will never treat people the way I was treated”?

Let’s lead differently.
Let’s lead boldly.
Let’s lead with grace. 💛
